Terms and conditions
1. Application
1.1. Except where expressly indicated otherwise, these Terms and Conditions apply to all products purchased online from National Archives Store. Please read our Terms and Conditions before completing your order.
1.2. By purchasing products online from National Archives Store, you agree to be legally bound by our Terms and Conditions.
1.3. National Archives Store may amend, remove or vary these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Our Terms and Conditions will become current and apply to all products once they are published on this website.
2. NAA Memberships
2.1. Membership is valid for one year after purchase.
2.2. Membership is not transferable or refundable.
2.3 Member benefits apply only to the people listed on your membership.
2.4 Please notify the NAA Members Program Coordinator at memberships@naa.gov.au for any change of address or contact information
3. Pricing
Pricing and product descriptions
3.1. All prices quoted are in Australian dollars (AUD) and are inclusive of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
3.2. National Archives Store accepts the following payment methods: Visa, MasterCard, EFTPOS, Apple Pay and Google Pay, in Australian dollars only.
3.3. Payment of the correct price must accompany all orders. National Archives Store takes all reasonable care to ensure that product details and prices on this website are correct at the time of publication. Product details and prices are subject to change without notice in relation to future sales.
3.4. Sale and promotional product offers are only available at the lower price while the allocation lasts and during the designated sale period. National Archives Store reserves the right to withdraw sales offers at any time.
3.5. Online pricing may differ from prices for identical or equivalent products available in-store at National Archives Store in Parkes, ACT.
4. Ordering
Ordering process
4.1. The sale of all products is subject to availability.
4.2. Orders are placed by filling out the online order form. National Archives Store can only accept and process orders when the order form is completed and all required information is provided. National Archives Store will not be responsible for any incomplete information in your customer details.
4.3. Once National Archives Store has received full payment, customers will receive an automatic email to the email address they have provided in the online order form. National Archives Store will not be responsible for any errors in details or contact information included in the order form.
Sizing, colouration and imperfections
4.4. Although National Archives Store endeavours to accurately display sizes and sizing charts, size information is provided as a guide only.
4.5. Although National Archives Store endeavours to accurately describe and or display product colours, actual product colours may vary slightly online and in real life. This colour variation is not a fault and is not a valid reason for a refund or exchange.
4.6. All product images are published for indicative and illustrative purposes only. National Archives Store acknowledges that some handmade products or those that contain components made from organic materials may present small imperfections or variations. These will often differ from the product images published online.
5. Delivery
Postage
5.1. National Archives Store ships orders within Australia only.
5.2. Postage is a flat rate cost of $15.00 per order.
5.3. National Archives Store uses Australia Post to send orders domestically. The Store is not liable for any missing orders and is unable to refund orders lost in delivery.
5.4. National Archives Store will not be responsible for any delay or failure to process customer orders or delivery of products due to inaccurate or incomplete details provided in the online order form.
Delivery timing
5.5. Orders are typically dispatched within five (5) business days of purchase (excluding weekends and public holidays).
5.6. Orders may be delayed due to unexpected demand or restocking issues.
5.7. National Archives Store will provide a notification email and tracking details after the order is dispatched.
6. Returns, refunds and exchanges
Cancelled orders
6.1. National Archives Store reserves the right to cancel orders at any time (for example, due to unavailability or an error in the product description). If this occurs, National Archives Store will contact the customer, via the email address provided in the online order form, to organise a refund or exchange.
Refunds and returns
6.2. National Archives Store acknowledges that in the event of any misleading or deceptive representation by National Archives Store, defective product or incorrect order, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). Where the customer has rights under the ACL, National Archives Store will refund, credit or exchange purchases (including delivery/packaging costs) at its election, unless the customer is entitled to a particular remedy under the ACL.
6.3. National Archives Store does not offer refunds for change of mind. However, we may offer an exchange or store credit if an item is returned within 30 days of delivery and is in its original saleable condition and packaging.
The following items are not eligible for a change of mind exchange or credit:
• Sale or discounted items
• Food, beverages and perishable items
• Items that have been used or opened
• Earrings
6.4. Shipping costs are non-refundable. Customers are responsible for the return shipping costs, unless the item is defective or incorrect.
7. Secure payments
7.1. Payment is processed immediately with the online product purchase.
7.2. Payment is processed in Australian dollars only.
7.3. To ensure protection of customer credit card details, credit card payments are processed using a secure, third-party payment gateway service run by Shopify. Credit card details are encrypted and cannot be accessed by National Archives of Australia.
7.4. While National Archives Store contracts with a service provider to provide a secure payment system, National Archives Store does not and cannot take responsibility for the security of information during transit over the internet.
8. Personal information
8.1. National Archives Store uses a third-party provider, Shopify, to collect personal information when a customer purchases products. This information is collected for the purposes of fulfilling the order. For more information see Shopify's Privacy Policy.
8.2. If the customer opts-in to National Archives Store newsletters or promotional information, National Archives Store may disclose their personal information to a third-party provider for National Archives of Australia’s e-newsletter distribution. These details will only be used for National Archives Store newsletters. More information about the National Archives Store newsletter can be found here.
8.3. National Archives Store may disclose a customer’s personal information to Australia Post for the purposes of delivering the order.
8.4. National Archives Store securely retains customer order details to help manage potential returns, refunds and exchanges. National Archives Store does not retain credit card details in any circumstances.
8.5. National Archives Store collects and uses customer personal information under the terms of National Archives of Australia's Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy includes details about how the customer can make complaints or access and correct personal information. By proceeding with a purchase customers acknowledge that they are subject to the terms of the NAA Privacy Policy.
9. Liability and law
Exclusion and limitation of liability
9.1. To the extent permitted by law, National Archives Store excludes all liability to any person for loss or damage of any kind (however caused, including by negligence) in connection with supplying or failing to supply products via National Archives Store (including due to interruptions to the platform for any reason).
9.2. Where any law imposes a non-excludable guarantee relating to these Terms and Conditions, then to the extent permitted by law, National Archives of Australia’s liability for breach of the guarantee will, at National Archives of Australia’s election, be limited to re-supplying the purchased products(s), or paying the cost of re-supply.
The governing law is the Australian Capital Territory
9.3. In purchasing products via National Archives Store, the customer agrees to the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, which govern the terms of the purchase, and the customer submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Australian Capital Territory.
